SAY ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY!

Our "baby" turned 3 last friday!  We had a jam packed day of fun planned for our special guy and Daddy even took part of the day off so we could go celebrate.  To start the day Jens woke up to streamers in his doorway, he wasn't sure what to think at first then he got into the swing of things.

Our traditional birthday pancakes, warning: picture overload coming up because Jens had soo many great facial expressions I just had to post them all.

Notice there are 5 candles on the pancakes, that was Jens's doing, if we had let him he would've stuck the entire pack on his plate.

Opening presents, Jens was thrilled he didn't have to wait to open presents this year (usually the kids only get to open 1 in the morning and then we have to wait to do the rest once Daddy is home from work).

Can't even see Jens the bag is soo big lol

Giving sis a hug for her present

So what happens when you spend the majority of your days with girls????  You get overly excited about what else? C-L-O-T-H-E-S!  Sorry Jens, mama will try harder of doing more manly stuff in the future with you like log rolling or something ;)

About to open his big present
 Wiggle Car!
I think he made out well this year and we haven't even thrown his party yet!
Sophie got a "you're a great big sister" present so that she and Jens can cruise together
We asked Jens how he wanted to spend his day and had given him some options and he chose to go see the Dinosaur Museum in Ogden.  He and Sophie are currently fascinated with dinosaurs.
This is Jens's "what was that?!" face.  We had just entered the park area and as I was taking this picture dinosaur roars started playing through a nearby speaker; he totally freaked out.

Look at those scary dinosaurs!  With one of their favorites, triceratops.

Watch out for this one! He got loose! :)
Jens, you are one very loving, mischievious, energetic, sensitive, and silly boy. You love to help both mami and daddy with anything that we are doing and love to follow and play with your big sister. You are my cuddle bug and daddy's teddy bear and I hope you never out grow cuddling.  You are very passionate with everything that you do which can then translate to being very sensitive and emotional if things don't quite work out your way.  You love to be outside, climbing, riding bikes, digging in the dirt and finding any way to get dirty, sticky, or wet.  With being messy and sticky you love to paint, play with playdough, blow bubbles, and any type of craft that involves glue.  You are whiz at puzzles and love to build with your blocks or train sets, or couch pillows.  Thank you for providing our family with lots of laughter and the best hugs we've ever had and for reminding us its ok to get a little dirty when your having fun and living in the moment.  Love you Bubbs!

Alice in Wonderland

Still playing catch up with my posts.  Sophie is still the prima ballerina in our household and in March it was recital time again!  This year her class were the little flowers in garden that Alice wanders into when she is small.  Once again we were impressed with our little girl's charisma and presence on stage, she loves being in the limelight, we're still trying to figure out where she gets that from because both Cory and I hate being singled out like that.
Pictures before the show with our little star

Backstage, she and her friend warming up :)

Ever wonder what goes on backstage? Well for little ballerinas its coloring :)

Old Geezer

Well after a 5 month hiatus I am back on the blogging scene but can't promise I will be responsible and actually make regular posts. This next post is dedicated to my other half, the head huancho of our familia, my best friend of 11 years, Cory.  He turned the big 3-0 back in January and to celebrate I threw him an appropriately themed surprise birthday party- GRUMPY OLD MEN.  With the help of some buddies I gave my Mr. a day of "age" appropriate activities away from the house to celebrate with the guys.  UNFORTUNATELY you cannot trust guys to remember to document their excursions for memory purposes so I do not have any pictures to post from his party :(  But you can see from the invite below it was pretty amazing. :)

There are also no pictures from the dinner portion because I, being the awesome wife had whipped up a Peruvian Dinner to serve to the guests and had to play my role of hostess that I didn't think twice to grab the camera- my bad. : /
Here are some pictures from his actual birthday:
The kids and I made him Southern Caramel Cake
About to blow out the candles, Cory was kind enough to wear his "outfit" from his party.

I had to post this picture of all the lights going out the second he blew out the candles because the next picture is when the lights came back on and is just priceless :)

 Eating our cake

Opening presents: Sophie was adamant of getting daddy a new tool for his birthday
Jens wanted to get him a new hammer

I gave him a year of dates

Happy Birthday!
